Winter Storm
We had a terrifying experience yesterday. A winter storm blew through Utah, and we got stuck in the middle of it. It happened as Brenna was coming home from school. We live about 6 miles away from her school, so she rides a bus. The road to her school is a long winding path through the mountain. On a good weather day, it's a gorgeous drive, but yesterday, her bus couldn't make it up the hills. Brenna was stuck on her bus for 3 hours.
She found a friend who had a cell phone (thank god!) and she was able to call me, but she was terrified, and all I could hear in the background where kids screaming (that poor bus driver!)
The bus driver had to turn around and he kept getting stuck in the snow. Brenna finally made it back to school around 6:30. She would have had to stay over night, but we had a neighbor that was actually able to make it to the school and pick her up. Paul was working late so I honestly don't know what I would have done. All the roads were closed, but eventually they opened them up to 4WD vehicles only. We have a 4WD, but honestly, I don't think I would have handled myself very well ;) One of the buses actually got stuck for over 6 hours. It wasn't able to turn around and make it back to school so parents were trying to make it to the bus to get their kids off. Brenna almost took that bus!! I couldn't imagine. 160 kids did actually have to spend the night at school. It was crazy.
Brenna made it home yesterday around 8:30 PM, she was quite shaken up, but she's SAFE! School is canceled today and we are just taking it easy. The roads are still a mess, and I am thankful that I have no where that I need to be today ;)
Hope everyone else is happy and safe. Happy Valentines Day!

A little Pink Chocolate :)
So I FINALLY finished up my Pink Chocolate Collection! I kept getting distracted, but I finished it! Lorynn's new favorite thing to do is play on the computer next to mine in my office, she is infatuated with Club Penguin. It's amazing at how well she can maneuver around that site ;) But she keeps wanting me to play all the games for her because she is trying to save up for a new house and some cute hair for her penguin. It's so cute listening to her play, every five minutes or so I hear "Darn! I don't have enough money for that!" She doesn't actually understand the princible of saving her hard earned cash ;) What can you do? She's four..
Anyway. Pink Chocolate. YUM! :) There is nothing wrong with a little virtual chocolate!
And this kit is a doozy!
And now thru Sunday, you can save $5 when you pick up the complete set :)
I scrapped a LO with this kit yesterday::
Yes! Only one year later and I finally scrapped my favorite photo! :)
I've tried scrapping this picture three times now, and each time I end up walking away from it. It feels good to finally finish it that I think I am going to mount this LO on canvas. I am going to hang it right on my office wall. YUM!
I also just wanted to say that I am THRILLED that I am not the only person in America with her Christmas Tree still up. My husband wanted me to clarify here that not only is it still up (yes still) but it's lit. For some reason he thinks that is the funniest part ;) But why have a Christmas tree that isn't lit?? That is half of it's beauty. And seriously, when I take down the lighted garland on the stairs just what are we going to use as a night light?? Honestly, I blame it on my new living room. It's kind of bare in there without the tree because I haven't really purchased any furniture for it yet. We have a small sectional in there and that is all. So the tree just makes it cozier.. But now even my kids are starting to pester me about it, so I guess this weekend it's going.. (We'll see!)
Looking for some inspiration..
So, I've been surfing the web tonight, looking for some inspiration to finish this kit I've been working on. It's SO EASY to get sucked in, isn't it? Blog surfing, site surfing.. I found some cute things though ;)
Seriously, how cute are THESE? I found the recipe at Parents Magazine :) So cute! We are totally going to make these for V-Day. I found the Cookie Cutter at Amazon, already on order ;)
So, I've been working on a new kit. It's going to be a doozy :) I finished up the papers tonight.. Now I just have to start on the elements. Want a little sneak peak?
Yes, you totally counted right, there are 18 papers.. Sometimes I just can't stop myself. I think pink is one of those really easy to work with colors.. Add a touch of peaches and cream, and well, the combinations are obviously endless. Hoping to be able to finish this set over the weekend, but we will see. Also this weekend, um. I have to take down the Christmas tree. Hee, I keep putting it off, and it looks so pretty still ;) But I am determined to have it all down by February. Yes, I know, a lofty goal. Also working on all the contest/challenge information for our Little Dreamer Apprentice Program. We've gotten TONS of emails about this! I promise to have all the info posted soon!
Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! :)
Little Dreamer Apprentice
So today was supposed to be the day for our kick off of the Little Dreamer Apprentice, but due to some extenuating deadlines, we've decided to postpone this program until next month :) We will be releasing some more information about this on Feb 1st, with our kick off scheduled Feb 15th.. I've been working WAY TOO LONG on the Fancy Pants CHA catalog. It goes to press later this week. We have TONS of awesome new product, and a new designer joining us ;)I can't wait to post some sneak peaks!! I think I've done at least 10 layouts for the catalog.. It's all really COOL stuff!!
I also want to thank everyone for their supportive comments from my last post. I really have appreciated all the nice comments and emails I have gotten, you are all the best!! Thank you!! :)
I also want to thank my sweet Neighbor, Lori :) She read my blog and contacted me with a PRIMO babysitter. My DH and I actually got to go out sans children! :) We went and saw Juno. We LOVED it! I was completely impressed with the author of the screenplay. It was the first thing she had ever written and she just sat down and wrote it in something like two weeks. And the director didn't change anything, I thought it was brilliant.
So, this week, since I am FINALLY done with the FP catalog. I've got a new set in the works for LDD, I am also going to be taking down the rest of my Christmas Decorations ;) Usually we take everything down Jan 1st, but well, things have been crazy hectic this month.. My girls have actually loved having our decorations up so long, but I am WAY READY for them to go..
I did actually finish up a set for LDD last week. It's called Light Hearted, the colors are bold and bright (just what I needed during our dreary winter) and it's in the shoppe now.
Plus there is a TON of sweet new product in the LDD shoppe. Everyone has been busy at work, and I LOVE the new things they have all added! :)
Last but not least is the next edition of the Creative Voice.. That should also be out sometime in February :) It's going to ROCK!
