A few images :)
So tonight's photo session turned out pretty good. I don't think I was properly prepared for the rambunctiousness of little boys. Girls are so DIFFERENT! Girls like posing for you, will STAY where you put them, and generally.. well, I wasn't prepared ;) It turned out that I only had two babies because the third was sick. They are all cousins, and so tonight we just focused on the boys.

It was fun, and probably the perfect first shoot because they really made me work for it ;) I have two more sessions coming up this weekend. And please excuse the lame-ish watermarks on these pictures. I am still trying to come up with my photo logo. I had a really cute one designed, but then realized it was a little too grungy, because I wasn't really going for the biker chic tattoo that it resembled ;) OY! I am hoping to figure my logo out this weekend. I may just have to post a poll or something to get a little feedback on it. Logos are so HARD. Trying to put your entire business into one design that is going to stick, has to look great in color or black and white, and represent everything that you are trying to portray. Tall order?? I think so!!
Can't Focus Today..
I have been having such a hard time focusing on design today. My mind keeps moving over to photography. I feel like I have spent the last 24 hours surfing the internet finding some of my favorite photographers. Man, there is a lot of talent out there!! I have a running list of favorites, but some new ones I found that just AWE me are:
Just to name a few ;)
I think I am just anxious. Tomorrow evening is one of my first REAL gigs. Three babies under the age of two.. YEP. I may be a glutton for punishment. So today, I really tried to be productive and work on the designs I was supposed to be working on. But I just couldn't get this upcoming session out of my head. Tonight I brought the girls to the location I am going to be shooting tomorrow for some test shots. (I know, I should just chill, right??)

We were only out for about an hour and I got quite a few great shots of them, so that at least restored some of my confidence a bit :) I was using my 85 MM 1.2, but I am not sure if it will work the same for moving babies.. We shall see.. Bringing back-up lenses just in case ;)
And on the caterpillar front. Yikes. Turns out we need a little practice with these too.. Out of the 30 caterpillars only 16 have lived. We have moved the chrysalises into the pop up habitat and now we wait for 7-10 days for them to emerge. Even though nearly half of the little buggers didn't make it, the girls are still really enjoying watching them and taking care of them. I will keep you updated! :)
Now, off to actually get some designing done today.
Ready, set, GO!
More Photos Today :)
I took the girls in the backyard for a mini photo shoot this evening. The weather was perfect for it..

And I have about a million more, but you probably don't want to see them all ;)
We had fun, they were pretending to be princess, and they loved wearing the skirts! I have been wanting to photograph these skirts since I got them! They are just about the cutest things EVER, And they make for very striking photos. There are lots of places online where you can puchase these gorgeous pettiskirts. My two favs are: Forget Me Not Kids, and The Beloved Child. I have ordered from both sites and have been extremely happy with their fast shipping :)
I am still in the process of building my Photo Website. I want it to ROCK, and it's taking forever!! I still need some more photos of children and babies that are not my own.. SO.. I am offering a VERY limited time offer.. I am only going to be doing a handful of these. I've already got several booked, but I am offering a free photo session and all your pictures on CD for the rock bottom price of $50.. (yeah, I know!) You can expect 20-30 finished full sized images on CD. If you are interested, please see this form here, for more info..
Hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day weekend!!

Creative Photography Retreat :)
So a bunch of us at Little Dreamer have registered for the Creative Photography Retreat in San Jose, CA. Anyone else going to this? It's going to be a phenomenal weekend of all things photography :) I am SO excited to go! If you are really wanting to jump in and learn what your SLR can do, then this would be the place to do it!! Give me a shout out if you are planing on attending!!
Earth Wind and Sky
It's getting to be that time of year again when I have to try a little bit harder to stay behind my computer and work ;) We've had some gorgeous weather the last few days, and I just want to be outside enjoying it. Usually what happens is I do go out and play, then I stay up WAY too late trying to catch up on work.. Maybe I should be glad we have a storm coming in tonight...
I do have some fun news to share. Little Dreamer has been working closely with a fabulous website called ScrapBlog. If you haven't heard of ScrapBlog, you really need to check these guys out!! Basically ScrapBlog enables you to scrap your photos completely online. You don't have to download and store kits and papers on your computer, everything is ONLINE. And right now all their content is completely FREE. YEP. Brenna and I have both been having fun with it, making scrapblogs to share with each other. It seriously only took her about 5 minutes to figure out the software, that's how easy it is!! And hey, if my eight year old can do it ;) They will very soon be rolling out some new features as well, including PRINTING :) Oh yeah! It's going to be SWEET!! You really owe it to yourself to check it out. You will also be happy to find quite a bit of yummy LDD content on their site as well :)
Speaking of yummy LDD Content (yeah, I should have been a new's anchor, since I am obviously the queen of quirky segways ;) I've got a fun new paper set out today. It's called, Earth Wind and Sky.. (Earth WInd and Fire was already taken)

These papers are perfect if you are looking for something to really contrast with your black and white photos. I scrapped some old camping photos of the girls today..
Gotta love those dirty girl camping pictures ;)
