Last day of our Sale-abration! :)

So today marks the very last day of our birthday festivities at Little Dreamer. We've had SO MUCH fun this week! :) I hope everyone else enjoyed themselves as well. I am getting ready to post a bunch of winners too :) YEAH! I will, however, be glad when things SLOW DOWN.  Our poor little server has been put through the wringer this week! But it is ALL GOOD :)

So, Today was my day to host  the last Birthday Challenge on the LDD BLOG. I decided I would do a Layout Re-Make. And I dug up a DOOZY of a layout to remake :) You can check out the challenge (and the LAYOUT!) ::Here::

I have gotten a few questions on how I did my Photo treatment on the re-make.

First, I had to FIND the original photos. That was NO EASY TASK! I didn't put a date on my original layout, so I had to try and remember what year it was ;) Took me FOREVER! These photos were also taken from my very first digital camera (not so hot) So I adjusted the exposure by opening the .jpg in Bridge using the Camera Raw feature. (This feature is only available to use on .jpgs in CS3)

After adjusting the exposure, and adding in a little warmth in Bridge, I used Nik Color Efex Pro's Bleach Bypass Filter to add a little drama. It actually added quite a bit of drama so I adjusted the opacity on the filter layer in my layer's palette to reduce the effect just a little bit.

Now, If you do not have Nik, and it's not in your budget any time soon. There is a fantastic action by Photo Blast that will give you roughly the same effect. You could try the Acid Wash/ or Acid Wash Pro. Ok, you could play with ANY of the actions from PB.. They are ALL FANTASTIC and well worth the price!!
